SPRING STARS IMPRESS O'BRIEN
Danny O'Brien left Geelong thrilled after his team of spring stars all impressed in jumpouts on Wednesday morning.
O'Brien had Cups hopefuls Miami Bound, Vow And Declare and Young Werther all in action, along with spring stable recruits Inspirational Girl and Superstorm.
Damian Lane rode Young Werther, Vow And Declare and Inspirational Girl, while Damien Oliver sat on board Miami Bound and Superstorm.
"The track was in really good shape, probably a Soft 5, and everything we trialled got a good piece of work under their belt," O'Brien said.
"They were all there just to stretch their legs and build some fitness. They got that done.
"We were happy with all of them. The two from WA trialled well.
"Vow And Declare trialled well, Young Werther, Miami Bound. They are all a mile-and-a-quarter-plus horses that were there to build fitness. But they all moved well and the jockeys were very happy with them."
O'Brien said Young Werther, who finished second in the ATC Derby, probably won't be seen until the Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes (1600m) on September 11.
"He's a horse that's not going to be competitive until he gets to 2000m and beyond, so he is not a horse we will be running in unsuitable races," he said.
