Subutai puts rivals to the sword at Geelong
Despite taking 16 races to break his maiden status jockey Ben Thompson is confident that Subutai can reach bigger heights than Tuesday's 2200m maiden on the Geelong Synthetic track.
Subutai settled three-back on the fence before putting his rivals to the sword after gaining clear running at the top of the straight and cruising to a soft win in the staying event.
"He relaxed beautifully in the run and when the breaks presented he worked through his gears nicely, I think he could go on with it after today and win better races," Thompson said.
