SUCCESSFUL COMEBACK FOR PALACE

Hampton Palace returned from a long layoff to win first-up for Danny O'Brien at Hamilton on Friday.

The Russian Revolution gelding required an arthroscope to remove knee chips after a poor run in April, but the four-year-old showed he had come through the experience well with a dominant win over 1100m.

"The staff have done a tremendous job with this horse to get back to racing and for him to show up and produce such a strong performance is a testament to everyone across our three stables," O'Brien said post race.

Hampton Palace has now won two and placed three times from eight career starts.

"It was only a BM58 event, but it's great to tick it off, now we need to place him to advantage again and see if he can hold his form."

Making use of apprentice Tom Prebble's claim, Hampton Palace sat three-deep on the speed before taking over and kicking clear.

"He did it the hard way, but he was impressive. He will have no issues running further as he probably ran 1300m today," Prebble said to Racing.com post race.
