SUN SHINES BRIGHTLY AT BENDIGO

Grinzinger Sun made a resounding return to the races with an emphatic performance to break her maiden status at Bendigo on Tuesday.

Having placed at her only three-career starts to date, punters sent the three-year-old out an odds-on favourite in the 1100m maiden event and she didn't let her supporters down by settling on speed and pulling clear for a soft 2.5 length win for jockey Damian Lane.

"She has always shown us that she had ability, but it was great to see her come to the races today and produce that kind of performance," Lane said post-race.

"I have always liked her and being by The Autumn Sun I would expect that she will be able to stretch out in trip which bodes well for her future."

Trainer Danny O'Brien was thrilled with the performance given the filly is raced by his two biggest clients in John Wheeler and Robert Anderson.

"Robert and John were on our table together at the Inglis Premier Sales a couple of years back and this filly came through the ring and they both liked her so they teamed up to buy her and hopefully today was the start of a flourishing winning partnership with this girl," O'Brien said.
