Three state assault for O'Brien

Danny O'Brien is launching a three state assault on the weekend's racing, headlined by Shamrocker taking on the boys in the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas.

The Australian Guineas winner, pictured taking out the time honoured event left, is not O'Brien's only Group 1 runner on Saturday, as he saddles up VRC placegetter Placement in the Schweppes Oaks and Impressive Eagle in the Sangster Stakes both at Morphettville in Adelaide.

"It's an exciting weekend for the stable. We can't wait to see Shamrocker step out against the best 3yo colts in the land over 2000m. She has come on from her Guineas win in super order and we are confident that she will run up to her best again," O'Brien said.

"In Adelaide, Placement will be suited to the set weights of the Oaks and we are expecting a big performance from her as she has shown her class over a staying distance with placings in the Wakeful and VRC Oaks during the Spring Carnival.

"While Impressive Eagle, although at big odds, has a good chance to improve on her third placing in this race back in 2009. She will be storming into it late if the speed that is predicted for the 1200m event is delivered in the Sangster."

Back in Melbourne, O'Brien has six runners headlined by quality middle distance runner At The Heads in the Pink Ribbon Cup.

"We have a strong team of runners across the whole weekend so hopefully we will be able to pick up a winner or two."
