WAIKATO FILLY SHOWS A LOTTACHEEX
Trainer Danny O'Brien scored yet another winner in the famous White, Green and Blue of Waikato Stud when Lottacheex broke through for her maiden win at Warrnambool on Saturday.
The daughter of Pins looked like she has more win in store the way she dominated the 1700m maiden event from outside the leader.
Jockey Liam Riordan showed his intent early pushing forward from a wide gate on the four-year-old mare and it proved the winning move as he was able to keep the odds-on favourite in a pocket.
"It was a good performance, but that favourite had his chance to run her down and he couldn't it so all honours to my horse," Riordan said post race.
"She had been very consistent with three third placings to start the prep, so it was great to see her break through for the win."
