ALL ABOARD THE LANE TRAIN

Jockey Damian Lane's past five rides for the Danny O'Brien stable have all been winners, including a double at Ballarat on Tuesday.

The gun hoop is in a rich vein of form for the Melbourne Cup winning trainer with six of his past seven rides all saluting.

At Ballarat, Lane was able to get Palani home for his maiden win at start seven thanks to terrific ride, pictured below.

Later in the day Lane then partnered Phoenix Global to victory - the gelding's first win in almost two years, pictured right.

"Danny has the team flying and I am just the lucky one that gets to guide them home," Lane said.

Other winners for Lane in this winning span have included Finance Tycoon (Group 3), two-year-old debutante Let'srollthedice, White Hibiscus and Inspirational Girl (Group 2), who at the weekend won her way into the All Star Mile by taking out the Blamey Stakes at Flemington.

"I trialled a few nice ones for Danny at Colac earlier today as well so hopefully we can keep our roll going as it's getting to the business end of the Autumn Carnival and a good time to be getting winners."

His recent form has seen Lane (65 wins) move past jockey Craig Williams (62 wins) for fifth most winners by any jockey for the trainer.
