AUTUMN TURNS TO SPRING

Trainer Danny O'Brien knows how to prepare a filly for the Spring and he appears to have another handy one in Autumn In Grinzing who dominated he rivals first-up at Seymour on Thursday.

The three-year-old was returning in a 1414m maidne event after having had one inglorious run as a two-year-old and she was sent out a $12.80 chance on SuperTAB. However she made a mockery of her price as she won with the authority of an odds-on pop - clearing out to win by a widening 3.25 lengths.

Jockey Damien Thornton was beaming post race.

"I am thrilled that she was able to produce what she shown us at home here today, as she had that race in her keeping a long-way from home," Thornton said.

"She is a filly with high upside and I hope I can stick with her as she is a horse that will be winning plenty of races better than this one."

O'Brien's Racing Manager Jack Howard said he expected the daughter of The Autumn Sun  would only improve as she gets out in trip.

"We are confident that she will relish 2000m and perhaps beyond, which has us excited for the Spring ahead."
