CLASS FILLY NOTCHES O'BRIEN SEASON CENTURY

Despite leaving it to the penultimate race, trainer Danny O'Brien's stellar season was capped with his 100th winner for the year when classy filly Namibia scored at Geelong on Friday. 

The three-year-old filly's win bought up a double on the day for the Melbourne Cup winning trainer and for the third time in his career O'Brien nothced a century of winners in a season.

The Flemington, 13th Beach and Geelong based trainer had 562 runners for 100 winners at a strike rate of  17.8%. More amazingly O'Brien runners finished a place 48% of the time. 

O'Brien snared three Group 1 for the season through Vow and Declare (Melbourne Cup), Miami Bound (VRC Oaks) and Russian Camelot (SA Derby) and his runners hauled in just shy of $12 million in prizemoney.
