CLASSY CORDILLA

Cordilla will get the chance to chase some black-type races in the Brisbane winter, after a classy win at Caulfield on Saturday.

The Danny O'Brien-trained four-year-old daughter of Shamus Award added a fifth career win, from only 11 starts, gunning Rainbiel in a driving finish.

Assistant Trainer Marc Chevalier indicated a Queensland raid could be on the cards after the mare bounced back from a flop at The Valley.

"She hated that track and pulled up muscle sore so we took our time," Chevalier said.

"Today's race was probably a little short for her and she struggled to keep up early, but she showed a very sharp turn of foot.

"There is a race in Queensland that would be perfect for her."
