Decircles to cap off big week for O'Brien

Trainer Danny O'Brien will look to cap off a big week when he takes promising three-year-old colt Decircles to Caulfield on Saturday.

After Shopaholic resumed in style with a victory at Caulfield on Saturday, O'Brien scored a hit-and-run win in Tasmania with two-year-old first starter Bush Aviator who took out the Listed $100,000 Elwick Stakes on debut at Hobart on Sunday, before backing that up with a strong win by So You Think's half-brother Now You Know at Sandown yesterday.

Speaking with Nadia Horne on Winners, O'Brien said the stable had a quiet spring for a variety of reasons but were looking forward to turning the around over the autumn.

"We just didn't have the horses during the spring carnival and the ones we did have in the stable seemed to all have issues which kept them away for whatever reason," O'Brien said.

"Decircles is the horse the stable is really pinning its hopes on over the autumn.

"He's pulled up really well since his first up run and he'll run in the (Group 3) Rubiton this Saturday at Caulfield."

Aside from Decircles, O'Brien has four other runners representing him in feature racing this weekend.

Promising three-year-old Adamantium will line up in the Group 2 Autumn Classic (1400m), honest entire At The Heads is down for the Listed Carlyon Cup over 1600 metres, while two-year-old Cambiaso in nominated for the Colts and Geldings edition of the Blue Diamond Previews at Group 3 level.

"Adamantium is a horse I have a lot of time for," O'Brien said.

"We think he's been looking for the 1400 so he should run really well on Saturday".

O'Brien's big week rounds out on Sunday when recent Sandown winner and Group 1 placed, Placement lines up in the Group 3 Hobart Cup at Elwick Racecourse.
