DEVIL DELIVERS AGAIN

There’s another nice horse on the rise from the Danny O'Brien yard in the form of the unbeaten Sun Devil.

The son of Zousain made it a perfect two-from-two to start his career with another strong win at Sale on Sunday.

The win backed up his debut success at Kyneton as the three-year-old chased down the runaway leader and race favourite Struggle Street.

Sun Devil settled second in running as Struggle Street tore away out in front. Jockey Billy Egan didn't panic and guided the gelding through his gears  as he chased down the leader in the shadows of the post to register a 1.25-length win.

O'Brien's Racing Manager Jack Howard was thrilled the horse could make it back-to-back victories.

"A wise man once told me it's not how quickly you win your maiden, it's how quickly you win your second start and this guy has done it in the least amount of time possible," Howard said post race on Racing.com.

“What is really exciting is that he’s still learning, but you can see the ability there.  Billy gave him a lovely ride — just let him travel and build through his gears. He’s a nice horse going the right way.”

Sun Devil was a $150,000 purchase at the 2024 Gold Coast Magic Millions Sale, and has now won $36,850 from his two career starts.
