Dreaded blitzes at Sandown

Dreaded produced a career-best performance at Sandown on Wednesday when he exploded from the rear of the field in the 2400m event to win running away by six lengths.

Jockey Daniel Moor said the five-year-old gelding had always promised to produce such a performance, but getting him to deliver has been a trick.

"Some of the work he has done at home makes you think he is Bendigo Cup style stayer, but he has a few quirks that can impact his performance," Moor said.

"It wasn't a plan to be last, but given the genuine tempo he travelled nicely in the run and was explosive late."

The son of Melbourne Cup winner Shocking took his stakes money past $100,000 with his first metro, the fifth win of his 31 start career.
