MASTERFUL DEBUT FROM MONGOLIAN GOBI

Two-year-old Ready To Run purchase Mongolian Gobi started his career in excellent fashion with an effortless four-length win at Sale on Sunday.

The son of UK sire Ribchester was a $75,000 purchase from NZB's Ready To Run Sale in November and there appears more wins in store given the ease of the victory.

"It was an impressive performance as he did race a touch keen early, but as soon as we had one to follow he relaxed beautifully and I loved the way he let down with me having to ask too much of him," jockey Daniel Stackhouse said post-race.

"He loved the heavy conditions and he ran through the line at 1200m really strongly.

"He appears a horse with plenty of ability and i can't wait to see what level he can go to in the future."
