MIX-UP DOESN'T HOLD BACK FAIRY WAND

Well-bred filly Fairy Wand didn't let a stable mix-up that caused her to wear the all white colours of the club impact her performance as the three-year-old put away her maiden first-up at Geelong on Friday.

The $450,000 Inglis graduate by super stallion Redoute's Choice broke through for the win at start just three, which pleased her trainer Danny O'Brien.

"We thought she might the best horse in the race and it was pleasign to see her tough it out and produce the win,. Hopefully she can now go on with it," O'Brien said.

The win was visiting UK jockey Jason Watson's second in his stint in Australia.

"I really appreciate the support Danny and his owners have given me and hopefully i can repay their faith with more winners," Watson said.

The talented hoop's visit had a tumultuous when he won his first ride here only to cop concurrent 10-meeting suspensions.

"I haven't helped myself, but hopefully I can finish my last month here strongly."
