OLLIE TAKES LUCK OUT OF THE EQUATION

Promising Cordilla put the frustration of two luckless runs behind her with an dominant win at Cranbourne on Sunday.

Sent out hot favourite in the last event on Cranbourne Cup Day, the daughter of Shamus Award was settled back in the field by jockey Damien Oliver. The star hoop then made a sweeping run around the field to surge to victory making it a treble on the day for him.

“She has been terribly unlucky at her most recent starts, so it was great to see her get back on the winner’s list,” trainer, breeder and part owner Danny O’Brien said.

“She has been up a long time, so we will see how she pulls up from this before deciding if we have a crack at a race during the Spring Carnival with her.”

The win was the four-year-old’s fourth from eight career starts and took her prizemoney past $100,000.
