PEACH SEES WILLO EXTEND JUMBO LEAD

Jockey Craig Williams extended his lead into double figures on Saturday at Caulfield when he produced a “10 out of 10” winning ride aboard Jumbo Ozaki.

By the end of the meeting the Melbourne Cup winning jockey took his season’s tally to 54 in town, 11 clear of his closest competitor which is arch rival Damien Oliver.

Williams ride on Jumbo Ozaki was textbook patience as he kept taking runs along along the fence mid ra e before having to only come around one horse to score the win.

“You can’t ride them any better than that, it was definitely a 10 of 10 by Craig,” said Danny O’Brien’s assistant trainer Ben Gleeson.

“The horse is in rich vein of form and we will look to continue that in the coming weeks.”

The Unemcumbered four-year-old has had four starts since transferring to O’Brien’s yard for two wins and two second placings.

His defeats have done at the hands of recent Group 3 winner Bam’s On Fire and boom galloper Big Night Out.

“He is an excellent horse who is building a nice profile as he goes through the grades and we are thrilled to have in our stable,” Gleeson added.

“Hopefully he has a nice race in him in the future.”
