POMAH SCOOPS VOBIS RICHES
Punters took note when trainer Danny O'Brien enlisted the services of Blake Shinn on a Friday at Geelong. And the super hoop didn't let his supporters down as he got the job done aboard Pomah.
Making the maiden win even sweeter for the four-year-old's connections was that she took home more than $70k from the race thanks to the Super Vobus bonuses.
"Blake is worth five extra lengths on a Friday at Geelong and his ride on this mare was simply outstanding," O'Brien said post race.
The win was also special for O'Brien as the mare is by his weight-for-age star Russian Camelot and he has also trained a much of the female family for long-time owner Jeff Dimery.
"Russian is starting to see some good results on the track and being able to come to this race and get such a financial reward for Jeff and his team in her maiden win was very satisfying."
Pomah has had five starts for a win and two placings, and of the strength of Friday's performance there will be more wins in store for her.
