PORTER delivering on early promise

Jockey Damian Lane had a lot to do with Porter in his early days and the top hoop always felt like the horse had above average ability.

On Saturday at Sandown, the son of So You Think made it his third win from his past four starts when he dominated his opposition in the 1400m BM70 event.

"He has always given me a good feel, but for whatever reason he wasn't putting it altogether in the early days," Lane said post race.

"Credit to Danny and his team as they have him flying and he really is showing what he is capable of.

"And I don't think he is done yet."

The win took the four-year-old's record to four wins and six placings from 15 starts and more than $133,000 in prizemoney.
