RICHES FOUND IN CRYPT
A barnstorming finish saw Crypt arrive in the nick of time to claim the prize at Geelong on Friday.
The son of Street Boss backed up his excellent first-up second placing with a death-defying surge from last to claim the first-place cheque in the 1243 maiden event.
Jockey Damien Thornton said there was plenty to like about the three-year-old gelding.
"I have been involved with him all preparation and his trials were only fair, but he appears to be a horse that turns up on raceday and produces, which is a great attribute to have," Thornton said post-race.
"He seems to enjoy flopping out the back and coming with one run and he has shown an excellent turn-of-foot late. I think there is plenty more to come from him as he is such a laid back character that is only just starting to understand what is expected of him."
Crypt has two placings to add to the win from his four career starts.
