RUNAWAY ARRIVES ON TIME

A perfectly judged ride by Billy Egan had Runaway Soul dropping late to win at Benalla on Tuesday. 

The son  of Pariah is ultra-consistent with three wins and 10 placings from his 20 career starts and the photo-finish victory took his career winnings closer to $100,000.

Egan was thrilled with the five-year-old's win in the 1212m BM56 event.

"He is so honest and maintains a strong gallop so I was thrilled that we were able to get our nose down when it counted," Egan said post race. 

"Hopefully with some confidence he can make it back-to-back wins next start."

Benalla is a happy hunting ground for Runaway Soul as Tuesday's result was his second win from his two starts at the track.
