STABLE REJOICES IN EMOTIONAL WIN

There were some tears of joy from stable staff as talented grey Sea What I See took out the feature Gold Nugget at Ballarat on Friday.

The stunning grey mare is on the come back trail after almost a year off the scene due to pelvic issues, and the daughter of Sea The Stars was able to win second-up over 1600m in a great training performance by Danny O'Brien.

His Racing Manager Jack Howard was beaming following the gutsy win.

"This win is so exciting for our staff as they have put so much work into getting her back healthy and in peak condition to perform like she has today," Howard said post race.

"We thought this race would be a line in the sand day for where she heads this Spring, but to have win the race has us over the moon that she is back and we can aim her some good mares races through the carnival."

The six-year-old Northern Hemisphere bred was settled just behind the speed by jockey Craig Williams before he angled her into clear running at the top of the straight.

"She has a will to win and she really lengthened nicely, it's a credit to the stable to have her back and she beat a handy field today so the Spring looks exciting," Williams said.

The Matriarch Stakes on Champions Day looks a likely main aim this preparation for the mare, while the Pinker Pinker Plate at Cranbourne is in line to be her next start.
