Williams on song with Savatone

A wet track and a Craig Williams' "special" helped Savatone bounce back into the winner's circle at Bendigo on Thursday.

The Savabeel gelding won on debut at Echuca earlier this season and has since been around the mark before today's second victory at his ninth start, in a heat of the Silver Bowl Series.

"It was a very good performance. He got through the ground well and I really liked the way he found line the once clear. It was a dominant win," Williams said.

Trainer Danny O'Brien heaped praise on Williams' ride.

"Everyone knows Craig is a world class rider and today he showed exactly why, he had the horse travelling throughout and he got him to the right part of the track," O'Brien said.

The Flemington based trainer said the plan with the promising NZ-bred now was to head to the Silver Bowl Series Final over 1600m at Flemington on Saturday, July 9.
