WYCLIF LISTS ADELAIDE AS HIS FAVORITE PLACE TO VISIT

Imported galloper Wyclif continued his liking for Morphettville with his second trip to the City Of Churches reaping a second Australian listed win.

The former English horse, who is trained by Melbourne Cup winner Danny O'Brien, has won two races down under and both have been black-type races in Adelaide.

In May he won the 2500m Port Adelaide Cup and today the son of Archipenko looked ultra impressive running away from his rivals in the listed Premier's Plate over 2000m.

A slight weight issue ended up paying dividends for star SA jockey Jake Toeroek in the race.

Toeroek was originally booked for the Phillip Stokes-trained Unique Artist, which ran second, but was quickly rebooked by Victorian trainer Danny O’Brien for his charge when he heard Toeroek’s plight.

Toeroek ironically sat behind Unique Artist in the run which led on straightening before taking charge to win with Resurge third.

Eperdument ran a nice trial for the Adelaide Cup finishing fourth after running second in the Cup last year.

The winning hoop said he couldn’t believe his luck but was thrilled with the victory.

He was super – he tracked into the race so sweetly, it was great,’’ Toeroek said.

“I am just thankful to be given this ride after I couldn’t make the weight on the Stokes horse (Unique Artist).’’

The win bought up a double for the Victorian trainer after Basarwa won equally impressively in the race prior.
